Rivermid™ is a cabled non-absorbable surgical suture composed of a large number of fine twisted strands covered by a smooth, seamless, homogeneous polyamide cover. Rivermid™ suture may be either dyed black (logwood) or white (undyed).
- Consistent diameter
- Smooth Surface for easy tissue passage
- Excellent knot security because of its inner poly-filament structure
- Minimal memory with exceptional flexibility
Rivermid™ suture is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including use in cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological procedures.
Rivermid™ suture elicits a minimal acute inflammatory reaction in tissues, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue.
As with any non-absorbable nylon suture gradual loss of tensile strength over time may result from progressive hydrolysis of the suture. Nylon suture should not be used where permanent retention of tensile strength is required.
Rivermid™ suture is supplied sterile on a Veterinary Cassette.
